When I was in management, I made it a point to personally meet with every individual in my organization – probably not surprising for an ex spy to be curious….. Once the head count was over 200, it became quite a commitment of time, but it was well worth it. People have so many stories worth telling, and meeting them face to face gave a lot of depth to what was otherwise a day permeated by organizational superficiality.
Now through the grace of God, my life got even more interesting. My world has expanded into realms of society that I previously had no access to. I have a hard time deciding who is at the top of my list of new acquaintances: The gray haired historian, the award winning journalist, the award winning film maker, the custom designer for the muppets (no kidding!), a world-renowned Christian philosopher, or the ex head of counterintelligence for the KGB (see picture).
Moral of the story: Get out of your comfort zone, meet new people and you will be richly rewarded by experiences that will blow your mind!
